To Keep Your Carpets Beautiful All Year Round, Follow These Tips::
Tip #1 Speed is important.
As soon as a stain happens, treat it right away. If guests are in the room, don't make a big deal out of it. Simply say you know what to do and it must be treated before it gets a chance to sit.
Tip #2 Eliminate All Odors
There is natural organic baking soda you can purchase. I sprinkle it onto my carpet and let it stand for thirty minutes and then I vacuum. If you have a spot with a lingering odor, sprinkle the baking soda onto it then mist with water. Brush the soda into the carpet fibers. Let set until it becomes dry and then you can vacuum.
Tip #3 Stain Treatments - (Always Spot Test First!)
Wine - Treat with Club Soda
Ink - Treat with Hair Spray or Rubbing Alcohol
Gum - Treat it by freezing it with ice cubes, then scrape
Soda - Treat it with a mixture of dish soap and water... about 1tsp to 1 cup water.
Tip #4 Remove Your Shoes
No matter what kind of weather it is -- never let the dirty soles of your shoes touch your beautiful carpet.
Tip #5 Vacuum Frequently -- Daily, If Possible.
Vacuum every single day and your carpets will last longer. Dirt that can't be seen can cause permanent damage to carpet fibers.
